Norm SoO Group

Hey guys, if there is any interest for a normal SoO I'd love to get a group going. This would be of course for mains that aren't involved in the Heroic Progression, alts, etc.

I was brought in as a friend of Cheech's, but I still want to be involved in whatever I can be involved in. I am looking forward to being a serious raider as I once was in BC and WoTLK as we head into WoD. This would be a good refresher and a way for people a little out of the loop to catch up in a way!

I am looking to head the normal SoO group if we have enough interest from people who have the same mindset as me. I have experience running raids and am looking forward to getting back into it.

I am a High School English Teacher and Softball Coach so my schedule is pretty nice, nights are free and later the better. My Fridays and Saturdays are usually off limits though. This means our raid schedule would be pretty standard of weeknights for a couple hours.

I am definitely in, the only nights that don't work are thursdays and fridays. I used to be a hardcore raider back in LK but of course since coming back to the game I haven't had that opportunity.

I was talking with Eriah about this, and consequently put a post in the members chat to try and do this a week ago. Anyway, between you two, Eriah on her pally tank, me on my monk tank, saiken on his disc priest, and Sunlyte on one of his many alts, we have a pretty decent start. We basically need another healer and 2-3 more dps to have enough to at least go in there. I probably can get one of my friends in another guild on his kitty dps and Eriah's husband also has a druid that if he wasn't working would be interested in going. Let me know if anyone else is interested and I'd be fine running it. The most likely day to do it would be Sunday afternoon, though it may be easier to co-ordinate with anyone from the other groups if it was Wednesday / Thursday instead.

We also have Bizznazz in the guild to run dps or tank warrior. I'd be down with that group, and Wednesday/Thursday/Sundays are the best for me as well.

I will continue keeping an eye and ear out for people wanting to get in a norm group, but this sounds promising.

Right, I remember you saying that now. I can dps on my monk fairly well, and I could probably work out how to heal relatively effectively if we really needed it. He doesn't have amazing healing gear but I'm sure I could figure it out eventually. Though the DPS / tank gear is 568 sooo =P.

I also have a rogue buddy who just hit 90, if he is geared up enough we can most likely use him too. That being said what ilvl should we look for to start SoO?

the 568 Tank/DPS gear sounds like cheating!

I'd say 535 would be the number to shoot for. I've seen groups with an average item level of 532 down wings 1 and 2 with solid mechanics.

I'm all ears for suggestions, but that's my initial thought.

If you have a group that never does heroic fights I dont see why an item level like regular ToT couldnt start you off for regular SoS

yeah, I'm sure we could do with the 520s, but from what it sounds like we will have a pretty substantial flex-geared group.

what days are you planning on going? I didnt read the whole post so if it says that sorry..lol

Wednesdays and Sundays work best for me, so either is fine. I have no problems going back if there's more to clean up. Just a quick question though, how do we wanna do loot? /roll's? or would we look for the bigger upgrades like in the progression groups.

That would be something to decide once we get the group together.

I currently have a Surv hunter, 530-ish ilvl, that would be available depending on what time the raid runs. I currently raid with Vol'jin so we'd have to be finished prior to that raid start time on Wednesdays.

If you still need an rdps, I have a boomy ilvl 550ish with a mix of normal/heroic experience.

From the brief look at what we have so far, all we'd need is a healer.

Looks like I'll be on my druid instead of my monk, but since he has 560 Resto and 562 Guardian, I think it will help us get the group together easier. Lets try and put a calendar invite up on Sunday ~ what... 6 PST?

I posted the event on the calendar and invited your Druid. Once I get more names I will send out more invites, but it is open so people can just join. Priority goes to the people who posted on the forums and were mentioned by you.

Bizznazz just told me he wouldn't be able to get on until 7/730PST. I'm willing to push back starting time an hour or so if you are.

That works better for Eriah and Lokkaan as well so that's fine with me, just means we're less likely to raid the 4 hours.

Yea, maybe we can work something out for next week that is better, but tomorrow we will push it to 7/730pst for the people who need it.

I'm transferring my priest over tonight. I am going to be bringing him to this Normal SoO from now on, or until my Mage is fun again haha. Now all the loot i was stealing from Babzy can go to him
