    Emildrek/Douglas - Frost DK/Feral Druid - ACCEPTED

Post  Dõuglas on 4/26/2010, 3:17 pm

    Character Name: Emildrek
    Class: Death Knight
    Talent Spec: DW frost

    Your age:27

Your weekly raid availability (We raid Fri/Sat 6-10pm server + Sun 4-8 server):
As of Now I am available all raid times

What add-ons do you use (Check our Information for Raiders page to see our required mods)?
I use all of the add ons on the info page except decursive and heal bot(seeing as i kill and not heal). I also use grid, buff enough, big brother, and Spartan UI. There are various other add ons to keep my interface as clean as possible.

Do you have access to Vent?
Yes I have it downloaded and installed

What sort of tools (calculators, builders, spreadsheets, etc.) do you use to plan your characters (if any)?
I use WoW Heroes to keep up on my gear and WoW's talent calculator. I probably change specs once or twice a month depending on if I have an idea that I think might work and run something easy with it..

Provide the armory link to the character you are applying with:
    http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Velen&cn=Emildrek

List any ICC 25 achievements you have:
I have cleared the first four bosses and killed festergut on 25.

What are your best in slot items for each slot from ICC 10 normal mode (Give us your gear wishlist)?
There are really only two pieces that I need in ICC 10 man normal. I would like a new ring if I can find one with the right stats. And I would liek to build a tank set..But that would be off spec
    Collar of Haughty Disdain
    Gutbuster
    Thrice Fanged Sigent

What previous raid experience do you have?
Cleared Naxx, Cleared All but Alganon and Yogg in Ulduar, Cleared first 2 bosses of ToGC on 10 man(dont get too many opportunities to do it), Cleared ToC 10 and 25, And Cleared up to the Lich king in ICC 10 man Normal. Also, OS, and Malygoes

What guilds have you been a member of?
I trasnfered this Character from another server the guilds on that server were The Forsaken Warriors and Minions of Hell. On Velen i have just been in Three Day Ban

Why did you leave your previous and current guilds?
Honestly there are a couple people in Three Day that I dont get along with and I Would like to have better raid opportunities. They are a great guild and most of the people there are cool.

Why do you want to join Shade of Arrows (Be thorough with your answer)
I have raided with a few of the members and I felt like I fit in even though I wasn't apart of the guild. THe people were cool and we had a lot of fun. I would like to have a constant raid position and not be relegated to a third string raid group. In other words I would like to have some progress.

Tell us about yourself, to help us determine if you would be a good fit here (The more you put here, the better it looks):
Pretty laid back can joke and take a joke. Im a serious raider but can have fun at the same time. I can take direction and I am willing to change specs or gems to better fit with the group or for better overall raiding. I m not perfect but I can do what is needed of me.

    Thanks!

I added you to the calendar invites, please accept or decline in-game. Also, please "/join SoAtrials" channel when you have a chance. We use this as a channel for our members to get to know applicants during their 2-3 week trial. You can join your alts to that channel as well.

We will give you forum access to our strategy page so you can read up on any ICC bosses if needed.

This past month, many people have had low attendance. But it is worth noting that on some days we have more than 10 members online. Guildies with 'Raider' status have first priority on raid slots, but we try to rotate everyone else in for the bosses they need, as long as they are on time and signed up on the calendar. Many days we do not have 10, and in that case you would be in for the entire raid. If you are accepted and join SoA, you need 87.5% raid attendance for 1 month to make Raider, and then you would be guaranteed a raid slot, when you are on time for raids.

Let us know if you have any questions or need anything.
    Talk to you soon,
    *Jay/Deezd

Please answer the following questions about your class:

    1. Explain the style differences of each tree for dps.

    2. Detail what secondary dps stats a DK wants to stack for each dps spec. (i.e. rank in order and explain the purpose of the order of haste, crit, ArP)

    3. Outline the single target and multi-target dps rotation for Frost spec.

    4. Come up with 3 situations in ICC during which you would use Chains of Ice and why you would use it.

    5. Detail how, as a melee dps, you are supposed to handle Defile being cast on you.

    1. Explain the style differences of each tree for dps.
I dont think I quite understood what you were asking here..Maybe I can get a little clarity?

    2. Detail what secondary dps stats a DK wants to stack for each dps spec. (i.e. rank in order and explain the purpose of the order of haste, crit, ArP)
For frost I would rank them in the following order Hit, Expertise, Strength, Crit, ArP, Haste. Hit is at the top of the list for every spec expertise being less important for some, however, duel wielding gives me a higher chance of missing and being dodged or parried. Str is the biggest overall dps gain after gaining hit and expertise cap. Keep in mind i dont stack expertise because with higher end gear I have plenty of it. I stack strength with the exception of meta gem requirements. Little changes with this concept in unholy except that Str and Arp move up on the list with expertise being less important. ArP is very attractive to Unholy because it affects just about every ability. In blood ArP becomes the most important stat after strength.

    3. Outline the single target and multi-target dps rotation for Frost spec.
In single target encounters I would go IT>PS>BS>OB>OB>OB>FS(killing machine)>OB>OB Rime(howling blast that consumes no runes) keeping up dieases..In an AoE encounter it would be basically the same although I would makes sure to keep diseases on as many targets as possible with Pestilence and keeping HB and BB on cool down.

    4. Come up with 3 situations in ICC during which you would use Chains of Ice and why you would use it.
Valks at the lich king encounter, which is probably the most important IMO. Blood Beats during the Saurfeng encounter to slow them down if there are few ranged.
I was split between Abominations during the Lady Deathwhisper encounter or the Zombies buring the Valithria encounter. I could not remember if the Abominations are immune, i think they are...

    5. Detail how, as a melee dps, you are supposed to handle Defile being cast on you.
As melee I would use the three seconds and get it out of the group as fast as possible and keep running making sure to not stop and to get away from it as fast as possible. With that I mind I recently changed the enchant on my boot from AP to Tuskaars Vitality for the minor run increase to help with this situation as well as any situation where there are things to run out of and a lot of moving in general during the encounter.

    For the first question-

Explain the way dps works for each spec. How is frost different from unholy or blood?

Blood is generally a 2 handed weapon build that focuses on healing and strike.
Unholy is most commonly 2 handed weapon that focuses on spells summons, diseases, and AoE
Frost is commonly a dual 1 handed weapon build that focuses more on counters and combos

That is some serious vetting of applicants. Sorry I couldn't make it tonight. Hope you downed the lich King in my absence.
