List the days you are raid available (Sun-Thurs 8-12pm EST):
I am available Monday - Friday during the times you already raid starting 5pm pacific
What add-ons do you rely on most?
Weak Auras, DBM, GCG Gambler (can't live without that one), recount, prat, elvui
What resources do you use to keep up to date on how to play your class?
Elitest Jerks, mmo champion, and SOMETIMES get some info from icyveins. I also use SIM craft.
What previous raid experience do you have?
Well in WOTLK I was new to WOW and did a fair bit of casual raiding in NAXX25 and Ulduar10, I took a break when ICC came out. I started playing again when mists was released, I full cleared content but didn't get serious about the game until SoO, I started doing heroics in my own guild that I was GM of, then expanded by getting 2 toons geared and joining vox radix as well and now I am 12/14 heroic exp on two different toons.
What guilds have you been a member of and why are you leaving?
Vox Radix - The GM and officers are all playing D3 right now and I've essentially been running the guild myself. I recruited several waves of people, and I finally gave up trying since last week since nobody is helping me and it's not even my guild nor do I share in any benefits the GM gets from millions of carries. Guild is falling apart, many core members leaving and we keep re-progressing on the same content, we wipe 15 times on bosses like thok when we've killed it for many many months already.
Why do you want to join Shade of Arrows (Be thorough with your answer)?
Because I am ready for a change and your guild seems like one that I would want to try out!
How did you find us (Friend,Forum,Trade Chat,Officer, etc.)(specify)?
You replied to my forum post
Are you competitive by nature? If so, who do you compete against (Yourself or others? Specifiy other)?
I am competitive, I compete against myself and others and try my best to improve and be the best that I can be
Tell us about yourself to help us determine if you would be a good fit here (The more you put here, the better it looks):
Well where do I begin! I am a 29 year old male, and my name is Adam. I have been a business owner for many years. I started working when I was 15 years old, and from age 20 and beyond I have been an entrepreneur. I worked for 80 - 100 hours a week with only time left to sleep when I was 18 - 20, I worked VERY hard to achieve my goals at someday owning a business.
I owned a limo business from age 20 - 25 and when the economy took a sharp dive I decided to sell my limo business before it got worse and started a tech company. It was a wise choice and I have been doing internet marketing and web design from that day until now.
I accomplish things I set my mind to, I am a very hard worker both IRL and in game. I am a team player and have a strong sense of dedication towards my team and the last thing I would ever want to do is let them down. I do extensive research on fights before I ever step foot in the encounter.
I don't mind long raid days, and many raid days per week, I am willing to take this game seriously and fit into a hard core environment. Although I have as of yet only been in semi-hardcore raid environments, if you give me a fair chance, I promise you won't be disappointed.
Outside of the fact that I know my class, well:
I maintain a 95% attendance and only miss raid in cases of extreme emergency
I always try my best everyday I play this game
I have guild leadership experience and have helped vox recruit MANY people my rank at vox is a recruiter which is one step below officer and above the raider rank (I am willing to help your guild too if you end up needing it, I'm just a helpful person
I am a mature adult who takes criticism well and improves on it
I'm solid, not going anywhere, not wishy washy, you can expect to see me here still in your guild many months from now
I am mainly applying for my hunter (unless you need a druid more), so for now I will just go into detail about the hunter.
I am not afraid to try new things. I see alot of hunters simply copying what top hunters on their server do, while this would probably yield decent results, I believe that there's always ways to come up with your own game play that will yield better results, so I try everything first before going with a cookie cutter option.
For instance, I sim crafted my toon in many different ways with the gear I had about a month ago, and actually found I could do about 5K dps more (I know it's not alot) if I defied all the normal rules and went Crit>Mastery>Haste VS going Crit>Haste>Mastery like most hunters do, but this would only work if I used the talent fervor to regen more focus since I would be losing out on that when I reduced my haste. That was not the end of my experiments, I tried as many combinations of talents and stat weights as I could before I finally started raiding that week with the optimal build for my current gear.
I theorycraft my toon on an ongoing basis. I am also not afraid of asking for advice from a highly ranked player of the same class / spec if I ever am in doubt about something. I take criticism well, and although I try never to make a mistake, if I do make one, I learn from it.
Depending on how I set up my talents, my rotation might change slightly, for example if I take thrill of the hunt I may use arcane shot more frequently because when it procs the focus cost is reduced quite a bit, this drastically changes your rotation because both arcane shot and lock n load procs on your explosive shot often times are overlapping, so what I do is hit explosive shot (cost 0 focus) give me back enough focus regen to cast arcane shot again, and back and forth backing sure my serpent sting and black arrow are always refreshed and try to maintain a 100% uptime on my dots. Using thrill of the hunt also give me more frequent use of my rapid fire since the cooldown is reduced by 1 second every time I hit arcane shot. I start out the fight by prepotting and using my stampede and rapid fire. Another way of doing it is going with fervor and changing over to Crit>Mastery>Haste and using a murder of crows on some encounters and blink strike on others.
I also switch out from glave toss to barrage on AOE fights since barrage does more AOE damage and glave toss does 4 times more damage to the primary target but does little AOE.
Bonus question >>Do you attend couple's cross-stitching?<<
Sure why not LOLz
