List the days you are raid available (Sun-Thurs 8-12pm EST):
All of the above
What add-ons do you rely on most?
Bartender and ElvUI. I cannot live without the customizability and extra bars given by these two addons.
What resources do you use to keep up to date on how to play your class?
Elitistjerks, mmochampion, wowhead (helps understand intricacies of my and other classes' abilities), and any strong rogue I can talk to and brainstorm with about priorities/openers/rotations etc.
What previous raid experience do you have?
Only started raiding this tier. Have raided normal since September and heroic since February. Not much, but I can say I'm a quick learner and put in every effort to understand and execute boss mechanics to the best of my ability.
What guilds have you been a member of and why are you leaving?
Denied: Where I began raiding. Tried to apply a progression mentality to an ultimately casual guild. Managed 13/14 normal in an obscene amount of time, but it forced me to learn my class in and out to make bosses go down even with other players not pulling the numbers they should be.
Excessive Frowning: Recruited out of my 13/14 guild into a 7/14H 10 man guild going 25. Server transferred to Illidan in February and raided with them until late march, when the guild fell apart. After progressing to 10/14H, 6 or 7 guildies either quit or couldn't make raid and officers decided to go back to 10 man to finish the tier to make recruiting easier. After a single raid, the tank main tank and a DPS logged off and have barely played since.
Dragonus: Was never really in this guild, but trialed with them for a week. After the week was up they decided to switch to 10 man to finish out the tier (much like EF). Despite only being there for a week, I was also invited into the 10 man. Also like EF, multiple people from the 10 man quit (except this time before we even had the first raid).
Why do you want to join Shade of Arrows (Be thorough with your answer)?
I want a stable guild to progress through the last few heroics of siege and move on into mythics in WoD with. After the last two guilds I've raided with, a guild with strong leaders and members who all care about progressing, playing to their best and holding each other to high standards would be a very refreshing change of pace.
How did you find us (Friend,Forum,Trade Chat,Officer, etc.)(specify)?
Riesling added me over realid and I saw his/her guild recruitment broadcasts.
Are you competitive by nature? If so, who do you compete against (Yourself or others? Specifiy other)?
When it comes to my performance in wow, I am extremely competitive. I constantly look at not only the numbers I'm dishing out, but things like damage taken (obviously want the lowest), buff/debuff uptimes (things like Sha of Pride rift debuffs) and damage done to adds or mind controls.
Tell us about yourself to help us determine if you would be a good fit here (The more you put here, the better it looks):
IRL Stuff
Currently employed at a local YMCA while going to university for software engineering. Have a very flexible schedule (classes in late morning/early afternoon and currently a substitute teacher/lifeguard at the Y), so making raid times is no issue.
WoW career
I started playing WoW in mid-late WotLK after being RaFed by my brother. We leveled a couple characters to 70 (as I couldn't afford the expansion) before I lost my authenticator and stopped playing. Came back in early Cata with a SoR and played as a complete casual, only questing and doing LFD to get my fill of the content. With the release of Mists, I decided to get my ilvl high enough to do MSV, and from there I was hooked.
I played what I can best describe as 'hardcore LFR' through T14 and most of T15 before deciding that I wanted something more. Valour capped every week and got as much Shado-Pan Assault rep as I could to deck myself out in 522s and tried to get into some normals. Because it was so late into the tier and I was on a very slow server, I didn't get much practice in, but it was enough for me to really want to get into serious raiding.
With the release of 5.4, I found a startup raiding guild and was super impressed that we managed to kill Immerseus week 1. Months of progression to get to Garrosh, but the stress of the last boss of a tier (even on normal) killed a couple member's drive, and with the low population of the server we found it impossible to replace a tank and a core DPS spot. I then moved on to Excessive Frowning, got my first taste of heroic progression before that guild fell apart due to some mismanagement and end-of-expansion fatigue. For the last couple weeks I've been scrambling to find a new guild to get my fill of skill-testing bosses and the interaction between knowledgeable and mechanically skilled players, so here I am!
Bonus question >>Do you attend couple's cross-stitching?<<
Is that where you make those "Bless this mess" signs? Because if so I am so down. I guess I'd need to find a girlfriend, too...
