WoD Levelling Discussion Empty WoD Levelling Discussion

Post by Fabled Fri Oct 03, 2014 5:12 pm

Id love to get a small discussion going on what people who have been playing the beta think is the most effective way to level? (questing, Dungeon grinding?). By the start of WoD id like to have a small guide for myself / anyone else who wants it on this forum so that its easy come launch day to cruise to 100!

So some things that jump to my mind off the start:

Where should you log out the night before in order to pick up the first quest and get to draenor?

Will jumping straight into questing be the best way? Or should we look into getting some 5 man groups together to farm? ( monkey runs in MoP with guild standards was crazy fast till 87)

Are there any items you can farm to make this faster / easier?

Once at 100 or on the way levelling up will there be any reputations we should be on the look out for in order to purchase gear? (daily quest hubs and the like in order to buy rep based epics at the start).

Are there any gimmicky ways that people know of? (ex. killing elites , monkey runs, Alterac Valey giving 1mill exp per win)

This is all I can think of right now. If anyone else has any other questions or tips please post them.

By the end of this expac I hope to turn this into a nice little guide / brainstorm so we can all level quickly Razz

Ill be doing research on my own over the next coming weeks and trying some things on beta so ill be posting whatever I find Smile

    Thanks guys!

There is so much time to level and no realm first feats, it'll just come down to what you enjoy at the moment. Plus there are so many free guides that will be releases the few days prior that its unnecessary work to make a personal one. It'll be just like every other xpac. However the scenery is very nice this time around and the questing isnt as linear.

If it's anything like MoP was, the fastest way will be the quest lines and the dungeon quests.

i'm looking forward to leveling. Especially since what kind of base you build in a zone determines the quests you get there.

    Wrong.

Monkey runs and AV were a million times faster than questing.
There was also 2 elites that had 1 min spawn rates and gave a mill exp. That got someone to 90 in 5 hrs.
so there are definite ways to cheese quick levels.

I'm going to blind fold myself and spam my space bar to level.

Mobs kills in WoD Dungeons award nearly no XP, or at least they do in the Beta. I've been out of the country for a few weeks, so haven't played the Beta, so it could have changed.

Don't they usually scale that shit down in beta to encourage more quest testing?

They said it was the new norm. They didn't want things like the Monkey grinding to be prevalent again.

Did you see that the crafted gear is going to be usable at level 91? The weapons you can make are something like 10 or 20 ilvl higher than heirlooms.

I knew about the armor. However, I thought the weapons were like the ToT crafted weapons? Different tiers and such.
